Hubert Sagnières
Discover, explore, share, this could be Hubert Sagnières' motto!
An inveterate traveler, he first traveled with his family to the islands of the South Pacific in the footsteps of Bougainville and Laperouse.
In 1991, as the head of a large French industrial group, he moved to Canada with his wife and children, became passionate about the Far North, and carried out more than twenty winter polar expeditions in the Canadian Arctic.
In recent years, from the Dayak tribes of Borneo to the Mentawais of Siberut Island, his thirst for encounters and discovery has guided him to the most remote islands of the Indonesian archipelago.
It was this passion for travel and adventure that drove Hubert Sagnières to immerse himself in the stories of the great explorers of past centuries and to bring together this exceptional collection of old exploration books.
He continues to tirelessly travel the world, discovering all these stopovers that have become legendary places over the centuries.
In 2024, with his friend and pilot George Adam, he completed a 5-month worldwide expedition, celebrating the centenary of the first flight around the world in 1924, with a piece of the Chicago aircraft on board. Learn more...
